y Wine Life: LeSsons & Inspirations y Wine Life: LeSsons & Inspirations by Mark Ancona. A s an impressionable and precocious eight year-old, there is no better feeling than having a seat of honor at a long, multigenerational family table teaming with boisterous Italians at the holidays. Nono Telo, the octogenarian patriarch seated at the head, would become increasingly happier as the meal progressed, a euphoria brought on by the combination of a steady drip of homemade red wine and the pride imbued by his two great grandsons, myself and Tony, seated directly to his left. I would be presented with a watered down glass of Telo's red to enjoy with the seemingly endless array of lovingly prepared Neopolitan/Piemontese courses. In retrospect, the aroma and taste of the diluted concoction and the associated ambience were among my truly formative vinous influences. The wine was one of the integral complementary ingredients to a wonderful repast with no pomp or circumstance involved - a condition that is reflected in all that we profess at Fountainhead and Fat Cat Pie Co.
