DSSD Rocks, Rolls, and Jazzes up Stamford's Summer Music Scene - It would be apt to dub the city of Stamford the City of Music this summer. Two concert series, Alive @ Five and Jazz Up July, are aimed at combining great music and food in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Stamford's downtown area in the Columbus Park vicinity is already teeming with live music offered inside bars and restaurants on Summer and Bedford Streets (see “The Fez,” page 39). Outdoors, the Alive @ Five concert series, which runs on Thursdays from June 23 through August 4, features rock, pop, and hip-hop acts on a big outdoor stage on Main Street. The newly minted series, Jazz Up July, will also be held here every Wednesday throughout the month.
