At The Beat, we're all about the music. Walk into Andy's office on any given day and you'll find him planted front and center at his gi-normous computer screen with The Clash or The Mermen serving as his inspirational
backdrop. Name a band and it's likely that our biz guy, Jerry, has seen them live. He is a veritable encyclopedia
of musical knowledge. At my house, depending on which, if any, kids are home and whose Ipod is plugged in, you're as likely to hear Miles Davis as Phish, Velvet Revolver, Springsteen, Beethoven, or Kid Cudi, and that's only if the guitars, basses, and French horn aren't out for practice, jam sessions, or messing around. Unless I'm deep into construction of a feature story (where I need close to absolute silence), my entire life and work carries on with a backbeat of MVY or WFUV or even, at times, WWPT, the Staples High School radio station.
